April 12 marks the official launch of the National Satellite Communications and Broadcasting System of the Republic of Belarus (NSCCB), marking a new stage in the country’s development. Our country has become a full member of the global space community.
Belarus has earned a worthy place among the “golden mean” powers, whose space potential is characterized by the presence of a small orbital segment and infrastructure focused both on domestic objectives and the provision of commercial services on the international market.
Back then, on April 12, 2016, speaking with the ground control center team, the President defined space exploration as a strategic path to the nation’s qualitative growth. The construction of satellite centers and the launch of satellites are ambitious steps that take the country beyond its traditional manufacturing base and make it a country of the future.
Today, the Belintersat NSSS&V project is a symbol of a successfully implemented strategy: from the space concept to a functioning high-tech infrastructure and services provided, in demand globally.
Over the past decade, the NSSS&V project has significantly strengthened the foundation of Belarus’s national sovereignty. This foundation rests on a reliable orbital outpost, intellectual capital, and the ecosystem of the future.
Today, the operation of its own communications satellite allows the country not only to effectively meet domestic needs but also to become a full-fledged player in the global telecommunications market. The ground control complex in Stankovo accumulates the professionalism and unique competencies, transforming the experience of Belarusian specialists into a competitive export product. The integration of space technologies into the economy provides a powerful boost to related industries, confirming Belarus’s status as a “golden mean” power.
