On December 11, as part of Career and Cooperation Days between the company and the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technology at BSU, a tour was held at the NKU campus for a group of faculty students, accompanied by their supervisors, senior lecturers Sergei Vladimirovich Ratkevich and Vera Rimmanovna Ermakovich, both from the Department of Physics and Aerospace Technology.
Our guests took full advantage of the opportunity to see firsthand how the satellite’s ground application center operates and learn about satellite communications technologies.
During the tour, Valery Khatko, NKU flight director, spoke not only about the history of the Belintersat-1 satellite, its purpose, and its in-orbit operation, but also about the engineering technologies used in its design and how it is powered.
The younger generation was also interested in the approaches of the satellite’s flight control specialists. They answered questions about how and with what software continuous communication with the spacecraft is monitored, and when its orbital position is adjusted.
The tour provided a useful dialogue for NKU students, faculty, and staff, enabling the students to gain a deeper understanding of the interconnected processes of the satellite’s ground control.
