At the end of April 2024, at the 174th training ground of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, specialists from the weapons industry conducted firing tests of experimental samples of the IVC-122RL air target radar simulator.
The product simulates an air target for anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) with a radio command guidance system for anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAM).
The IVC-122RL is designed for training and practicing the crews of the Osa-AKM, Tor, Pantsir, and Buk air defense systems in conditions close to those of modern combat, in order to develop and maintain their stable skills in detecting, tracking, and destroying high-speed ballistic air targets with low radar signature in a training ground. The design of the product provides for two versions that differ in altitude, speed, and range.
The IVC-122RL is launched from BM-21, BM-21A (BM) combat vehicles, as well as from other launchers designed to launch 122 mm rockets.
The IVC-122RL is a completely domestic development. It does not include any imported components. The design features of this product include ease of manufacture, manufacturability, reliability, low cost, high performance characteristics (TTC), and modernization potential.
During the tests at the testing ground, all IVC-122RL samples confirmed the declared performance characteristics and reliability under the conditions of military operation during practical use. Their new capabilities for organizing the training of crews of various air defense systems were revealed. The preliminary results of the IVC-122RL tests were recognized as positive.
During the launches at the testing ground, stable detection, capture, tracking and destruction of air targets simulated by the IVC-122RL by the Osa-AKM SAM crews were ensured.
It is noteworthy that cadets of the Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus were in the cockpits of the combat vehicles of the Osa-AKM SAM. The launches of SAMs at this type of air targets by cadets were carried out for the first time in the history of this academy. The results speak for themselves: the domestic military school is at its best, the country’s air shield is in good hands.
By the end of this year, it is planned to complete the experimental design work and implement the supply of the IVC-122RL simulator to the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
